The part that holds the post down that contacts the razors electrical connection stopped staying down on mine about 2 years ago. I just could not justify the $65+ to buy the whole base. For $20 this part fixed a 2 year old problem so I have to say this is excellent.
It is not easy to install though. Read the directions and be careful. Use common sense and you shouldn't break anything like I did. The little lights broke as I wasn't paying attention to their plastic fiber like extensions.
Only reason I gave it a 4 is because the directions could be a bit more detailed.
Good product, good seller, both highly recommended.

This is NOT a complete charge/clean base unit. This replacement part is the upper half only. Use this part to repair your base if the arm on yours no longer locks down to charge & clean shaverNo installation directions are provided from manufacturer. Basic instructions; First, if yours is not working, I would suggest taking it apart so you can see what you're getting into. It's already broken so your no worse off if you get it apart and decide not to buy the part. Remove cleaning cartridge and then just take the 'arm' in one hand and the base in the other then steadily and firmly pull the two pieces apart at the seam about half way down the base. There are 4 tabs that hold the 2 pieces together. There is also a small wire harness that will need to be unplugged once the two pieces are seperated. You install the new one in the opposite order. The hardest part about installing the new part is getting the tabs lined up correctly and also the 3 clear prongs that fit into the back of the "charge', 'clean' and 'cartridge' lights.
