(More customer reviews)My leg hair is thick and very dark brown, so I've always had to shave often to be able to have smooth legs. Stubble is also an annoying and frequent problem. I bought this epilator at a store after reading the reviews of several models on Amazon, because all of them mentioned how terrible the pain was. I actually thought I'd end up returning it the next day when I felt how much it hurt. I was shocked to find it wasn't that bad! My leg hair was in full-on chewbacca mode when I started, and it did hurt, but using the "pain relieving head" and putting the speed on "slow" helped a ton, and by the end of that evening I was using the regular head on high speed. It's a gentle burn, but it's not at all unbearable. The first time was the worst, but since then the pain has been a non-issue.

Things I love about using this product:

- I don't have to shave whenever I'm taking a bath, which means I don't have to sit in a tub full of my own leg hair (ugh), or alternately shave at the end of the bath when I'm all relaxed and don't feel alert enough to run a razor over my skin. I also don't have to shave in the shower anymore, which was always a dangerous feat (made practically lethal now that I'm pregnant. It's hard to shave legs you can hardly see...).

- I have to use the epilator far less often than I would have to use a normal razor. I can go a long time with soft, smooth legs. This is great for summer vacations. I can use the epilator once on Sunday and still have nice-looking legs at the end of the week, without contorting in someone else's shower stall trying to shave my legs every two days.

- I can use the epilator quickly without wetting my legs. This is really handy if you just want remove a small patch of hair you noticed, or you want to run the epilator over them quickly before an evening out.

- The leg hair grows back thinner, lighter, and softer, so even if you do wait a long time before using the epilator again, the hair isn't nearly as noticeable as razored hair.

- I save money on razors, and no more razor burn and tiny painful cuts!
